Columbus sales rose even with rates above 7%
Rates topped 7% in September 2026, Realtor.com reported. That is the headline that worries most sellers. But buyers still showed up in Columbus.
The Real Estate Data Aggregator counted 454 sales in ZIP codes 43201, 43212, 43214, 43215 and 43220 together. That is up 5.8% from the same three months in 2025. Demand held, even with rates where they were.
Realtor.com also noted that 13.8% of Columbus listings had price cuts in September 2026. So not every home sold without a nudge. Price still mattered.
Not every ZIP moved the same way
The five ZIP codes told very different stories. Here is how they compared on the two things that matter most: price and speed.
43214 and 43220: the busiest ZIP codes
The Real Estate Data Aggregator counted 115 homes sold in both 43214 and 43220. That tied them for the most sales of any ZIP here.
In 43214, 71% of homes went under contract within two weeks of listing, the Real Estate Data Aggregator found. Supply sat at just 1.8 months. Homes there sold for 101.1% of list price on average. Nearly half, 49.6%, sold above list price.
In 43220, sales jumped 21.1% year over year, the Real Estate Data Aggregator showed. Pending sales rose 21.2%. The median price dipped 16.8% from a year earlier, though. More homes came to market there, up 15%, which gave buyers more to choose from.
43215: a different pace
ZIP 43215 moved slower than the others. The Real Estate Data Aggregator put the median days on market at 75, which was 21 days longer than a year before. Supply sat at 8.1 months. Only 17.5% of homes went under contract within two weeks.
Homes still sold there. The Real Estate Data Aggregator counted 55 sales, and the median price rose 14.1% to $385,000. But sellers in 43215 needed more patience than sellers in the other four ZIP codes.
43201 and 43212: prices climbed, speed picked up
In 43201, the Real Estate Data Aggregator found the median sale price rose 12.9% to $463,000. Sales jumped 19.7%. Nearly 47% of homes went under contract within two weeks, up 11.2 points from a year earlier.
In 43212, the median sale price climbed 19.9% to $577,500, the highest of any ZIP here. More than half of homes, 55.3%, went under contract within two weeks. Sales did slip 6% from a year ago, a small admission worth noting.
The wider picture
Columbus is not alone in feeling rate pressure. Realtor.com reported the weekly average mortgage rate reached 7.32% for the four weeks ending October 25, 2026. The Federal Housing Finance Agency said U.S. home prices rose 2.4% from August 2025 to August 2026. Columbus prices in most ZIP codes outpaced that national figure.
Realtor.com reported the Columbus median home price at $374,950 in September 2026. That sits below the medians the Real Estate Data Aggregator found in 43201, 43212, 43214 and 43220 for the three months ending August 31, 2026. Location within the city still makes a real difference.
